My Latest Project
December 04, 2011 07:51 AM PST
I apologize for largely abandoning you, podomatic listeners. I've been dabbling in the live online radio side of the new media spectrum lately and busy planning something. I am currently seeking partners in an ambitious new project I have in development, in which I will travel to a city or town in each state to meet the local Occupy group, interview their members and take part in events with them whenever possible. As I travel the country I will make updates on my journey available in the form of frequent blog entries, social media postings and podcast episodes and I will conduct a weekly online radio show, discussing my journey with callers and playing excerpts from selected interviews.
Starting my New Show

I've just posted a short explanatory episode on my new show, explaining what I've been up to since Watch it Burn ended. Check it out at anendlesswar.podomatic.com. A Word of Explanation

***I WILL NOT BE CHECKING THIS ACCOUNT VERY OFTEN. REACH ME AT THE NEW SHOW. THE LINK IS IN THE SIDEBAR*** In October of 2007 I had a rather severe bout of depression, combined with issues stemming from PTSD. I deleted everything I was able to regarding my online presence without any explanation to those of you who had downloaded the show or listened online (over 350,000 times combined). I apologize for that lack of consideration to you, the ones who made it so enjoyable for me. Thanks to Nonie, Jay (Best of the Left Podcast) and Brian (Wake Up AM), I have recovered all of the old episodes. I will not be recording new episodes of "Watch It Burn", but I will be starting a new show about my daily life and how I have changed, in large part because of my experiences. To reflect how I have been altered by my experiences and on the continuing effect our past has on our present, I have titled it "An Endless War" and it will be ready for your listening pleasure soon. I hope. In the meantime, please enjoy this archive. Dave "Godless" Kinser The "Lost" Episode

While rooting around in my old Tuff Box, I came across a battered thumb-drive. Wiping off the thin layer of dust (almost certainly from Iraq) revealed "WIB" written on it in Sharpie. Curious, I plugged it into my laptop and found a recording I had thought was gone forever. I don't know exactly when it was recorded and, as always, I'm not entirely satisfied with the quality, or my awful pronunciation and annunciation (due largely to the lingering sinus problems). It's not a complete episode, either. I suspect that I didn't invest much effort into finding it because the content is only really interesting as a novelty. The first portion is simply me reading and commenting on atrocities highlighted in Stars & Stripes. There is then a rather looooong segment in which I talk through a repair on a flight-control pallet. I find it horribly boring, but who knows what you folks might enjoy. Hopefully it will still be interesting to you in some way. The only alterations I have done to the original audio are the omission of a last name and an URL, due to privacy concerns and a request from the individual in question and converting it to stereo. I'm not really a fan of posting something this raw and "rough." I feel, though, that it still belongs here. So, if for some reason you are under the impression that collecting every episode will win you some kind of prize, feel free to download or just listen. I'm sure its place in the order can be easily determined by comparison of events and the timing of my torturous head cold, but I'm too busy working on putting together the new show. Enjoy, folks. Take care of each other and watch your six. Dave "Godless" Kinser Episode 20
